John T. Boyd Company (BOYD) has reconstructed the Venezuela Mineral Occurrences Map, including critical minerals, highlighting the country's mineral and geological potential.
The global spotlight has turned back on Venezuela, and for a good reason. There can be no doubt about the country's geological quality being of the highest level in the world.
From our vantage point at BOYD, we do not see this enormous potential from afar. For over 50 years, we have been directly involved with the development of mining projects throughout Venezuela; therefore, we have a very distinct viewpoint. We were there when Venezuela was in its "Golden Age".
Venezuela has world-class deposits of metallic and nonmetallic critical minerals that have the potential to attract large-scale capital investments and influence international trade flows. Located in Northeastern South America, with the northeastern final stretch of the Andes and a large portion of the Guyana Shield formation, the country has endowments of gold, silver, copper, nickel, lead, zinc, bauxite, diamonds, and iron, among many others, as detailed in our map.
Although the mining industry has been severely impacted by many issues in the last several decades, we remain optimistic about the future of Venezuela's mining industry. However, we believe that a new and successful era will depend on far more than financing and modern engineering. It will be dependent upon a genuine commitment to the welfare of the Venezuelan people and the principles of transparency, responsibility, and sustainability that should guide all mining activities.
At BOYD, our local presence and knowledge of the country provide us with unique value to take on assignments in Venezuela and participate in the revival of its mining industry.
